Cannabissearch.com Buzz Rating: Anyone expecting this strain to be potent with a powerful high will be disappointed. While the flavors are great this is more of a wake-n-bake strain, due to low potency.
Baldy is the product of a Big Bud mother and oh-so-famous Northern Lights #5 male breeding. Big Bud is renowned for being a huge yielder but with low potency. Baldy certainly took on both of those traits. However, the NL #5 is known for high potency and great flavor. The NL #5 definitely boosted the potency some and also increased the flavors of an otherwise bland strain. This bud doesn’t smell very much at all, which is good for maintaining discretion, but is an indicator of low amounts of trichomes – and thus potency. Baldy, like its Big Bud mother is a great commercial strain that will be suitable for early morning sessions and smokers who prefer low-potency strains.
Baldy is a very easy strain to cultivate, for beginning growers and experienced ones alike. It’s also a good choice for guerrilla growers due to incredibly high yields with absolutely minimal aroma. Baldy is a 7 to 9 week indoor strain and should be ready for harvest by the beginning of October when grown outdoors. These ladies like to have lots of room for roots to expand and fill up a container. This will keep them happy as well as increase the yield. Topping can help but since this strain is so high-yielding it is not really necessary. FIMing may be a better alternative. Look for this strains in clone or seed form, as it is a great strain for some commercial growers.
