Straight out of the California surf town of Santa Cruz, Backfire comes to us boasting large buds that are completely caked with layers upon layers of trichomes. The pistils are a very dark-brown/rust color, with barely noticeable hints of purple tinting the edges of these buds. The flavors of Backfire can range from citrus/diesel/black licorice to lime. This is a strain that has made quite a reputation for itself in Central California. If you’re in the area it would be well worth it to pick some of this magical bud up.
Despite being an indica-dominant variety Backfire will stretch just like any OG variety. With this in mind it’s wise for indoor growers to limit the veg time to around 2 or 3 weeks, at the maximum. Once flowering these ladies will put on quite a display of colors and aromas beginning around week 5. Around the 9th week they will have hues of crimson, lavender and blue on the fan leaves and sugar leaves. Backfire doesn’t do well with transplanting so growers should limit transplanting to as few as times as possible. An organic rooting solution helps out greatly whenever transplanting.
